Unless You Repent

Luke13:1 Just at that time there [arrived] some people who informed Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.
And He replied by saying to them, Do you think that these Galileans were greater sinners than all the other Galileans because they have suffered in this way?
3 I tell you, No; but unless you repent (change your mind for the better and heartily amend your ways, with abhorrence of your past sins), you will all likewise perish and be lost eternally.
Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them—do you think that they were more guilty offenders (debtors) than all the others who dwelt in Jerusalem?
I tell you, No; but unless you repent (change your mind for the better and heartily amend your ways, with abhorrence of your past sins), you will all likewise perish and be lost eternally.

The past few months has seen some of the most horrendous stories hit international news, with Kenya being in the limelight for all the wrong reasons.
Evil and godless men have used religion to spell mayhem and reign terror on the vulnerable and defenseless population, targeting such soft targets as malls, buses and learning institutions.

Social media awash with gory images of bodies lying lifeless, wailing relatives, distraught by the turn of events, dreams of many a bright future snuffed out, parents spending a fortune to take their children to school only for their effort amounting to nothing.

A question worth asking at this point in time, these people killed in such a way, were they more wicked than the rest in Nairobi, Mandera or Garissa?

Were the 67 killed at the Westgate Siege worse sinners than the inhabitants of Nairobi, or the 27 that died in Mandera, and the 147 in Garissa, were they more sinful than everyone else?

I tell you no, but unless you repent, you shall likewise perish… in the very words of Jesus. Galatians 6:7 speaks clearly about an attribute of God that is as unchangeable as His word. He surely cannot be mocked. All must travel the way of all the earth at one point. It is however unknown when, how and under which circumstances, for the bible states clearly in the 27th Chapter of Proverbs verse 1 Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.
Since time immemorial, catastrophes have plagued the earth. Many millions of people have died in an instant, major world wars, earthquakes, massive tsunamis, marine vessels capsizing, aero planes disappearing without a trace, among countless other calamities and tragedies, have claimed lives of millions of people, from all walks of life.
What is the fate of these people? The thought that many died without the Savior is terrifying, young men and women being swept off the face of the earth while in the very act of fornication, terrorist blowing up men whose god is money, houses with orgies ongoing suddenly drowned by tsunamis… did these people have time to make their way right with The Lord?

Truth however remains. Such did not happen to these people because of the wrongs and sins they had done, banish the thought…  but each one is solely responsible
for their afterlife,  2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.

That said, a clarion call still remains for each individual... UNLESS YOU REPENT, YOU SHALL LIKEWISE PERISH. Heed to the words of the savior. Rest not until you have made peace with Him, you never know what tomorrow may bring.

Hebrews 3:15 As has just been said: "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion."
